KOMA Coalition Initiative: My Story and My Complaint
The Coalition of Marginalised Groups in BiH u BiH – KOMA is implementing two public advocacy campaigns: 1) establishment of minimum social security and equal opportunities and 2) regulating non-institutional support to citizens from marginalised groups.
One segment of the active campaigns is focused on raising public awareness of issues of marginalisation, their seriousness and prevalence. Public understanding and support are crucial in advocacy processes with relevant institutions, because they increase pressure on the governments at all levels to undertake necessary steps.
To that end, two e-mail addresses have been set up: MOJAPRICA@KOMA.BA and MOJPRIGOVOR@KOMA.BA. The e-mail addresses will serve as a platform for experiences, complaints and suggestions coming from marginalised citizens, who will give KOMA representatives a better insight into the problems of KOMA members and solutions that they have to offer.
Members of the KOMA Coalition are invited to send their short personal stories to the e-mail address MOJAPRICA@KOMA.BA. The subject of the story should be „Why Am I On the Margin?“and they should factually describe their experiences with marginalisation, the negative, as well as positive examples from day to day life.
The collected stories will be used in advocacy activities and the public awareness raising campaign through publication on the KOMA webpage HTTP://KOMA.BA/CATEGORY/MOJAPRICA/, as well as on the online news portal WWW.MANJINE.BA once a week, in print media, for radio jingles and videos. Apart from the necessary editorial changes, the stories will not be essentially changed.
Concrete complaints to the work and practices of public institutions in all levels of government, implementation of existing legislature or suggestions for changes in practice and the legal framework can be sent to the e-mail address MOJPRIGOVOR@KOMA.BA, all in the area of protection of human rights of marginalised groups. The received objections and suggestions will become part of KOMA’s advocacy activities whenever possible.
