Corporate social responsibility

Corporate social responsibility

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is responsibility of companies for their impact on the society.

CSR means that companies and other legal subjects surpass their main function and make a positive impact on its working, social and natural environment.

This notion and practice refer to the whole range of functions of one company or organization and all the relations it establishes – how does it contribute to the overall economic and social development, how does it invest in social community, how does it respect human and workers’ rights, how does it employ and enable development of the employees and its target groups, how does it affect the environment and other.

Corporate social responsibility is becoming spread and accepted practice in Bosnia and Herzegovina and not only of the corporate companies but other subjects as well, primarily civil society organizations.

As an organization whose basic principle of work is corporate social responsibility, SIF in BiH was presented as an example of good practice in the Directory of Good Practices of Corporate Social Responsibility in BiH, published by Global Compact Network of UN in BiH (MGS) and Center for Promotion of Civil Society (CPCS).
