Build up for Social Inclusion Advocacy Platform in Bosnia and Herzegovina - Will You Stop and Listen…
…under this motto the Social Inclusion Foundation in Bosnia and Herzegovina (SIF in BiH) and its partner organization Initiative for better and humane inclusion (IBHI) implement the project, with support from European Union and UNICEF. Implementation has begun in November 2018 and will last until June 2021.
Social inclusion is a process, in which, the poor and socially excluded are granted the opportunity and means for dignified living. Hence, it is important to develop strategies for social inclusion that plead for advanced and integrated statistics within institutions of BiH, and place focus on children and youth as the vulnerable category of highest priority bearing in mind that public funding to them is the public investment in human capital not the public expenditure. Furthermore, it is necessity to increase public awareness that socially-excluded should play the key role in terminating social exclusion in BiH society.
Objective and project results
Contribute to better networking of the civil society organizations (CSOs) in their strive for social inclusion of marginalized people, more visible representation of interests and needs of the marginalized groups and their presence in social policies and modern strategies relevant for the EU integration processes.
Under the project, SIF in BiH and IBHI provide support to more than 100 members of the Coalition of Marginalized Groups in BiH “KOMA” including mapping and analyses of their current needs, development and adoption of modern social inclusion strategies at the entity level and for Brčko District, and their harmonization with standards of the European Union.
The project includes a series of trainings, roundtables and workshops on advocacy and lobbying, strong media campaign, as well as the “Will You Stop and Listen” documentary film and song. These activities will engage marginalized groups as actors, singers, trainers, advocators, researchers, presenters and influencers.
The change of attitude begins with us, and the policy change with strategies and reforms.
Let’s advocate for social inclusion, let’s stop and listen!
