Training held for civil society organizations: "How to use social networks for digital advocacy"
Sarajevo, 2.2.2020. - A two-day training for civil society organizations representing marginalized groups entitled:"How to use social networks for digital advocacy" was held in Sarajevo, with the aim of strengthening the capacities of marginalized groups for active advocacy and changes in BiH society in the EU accession process.
Representatives of 19 citizens' associations across BiH participated in a training that was organized within the project „Building Capacities of CSOs to Actively Advocate for the role of Marginalized Groups in the process of EU accession” implemented by the Social Inclusion Foundation in Bosnia and Herzegovina (SIF in BiH) with the support of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Project is implemented under motto “Make It Louder!” and one of the goals is to educate representatives of civil society organizations in BiH on the basics of digital advocacy.
During training, participants learnt about important skills for using digital media to improve their social and economic integration in communities, and about the tools for planning and implementing various lobbying interventions that will contribute to fulfilment of standards in Chapter 19 “Social policy and employment” of the negotiation process for BiH accession to European Union.
It was concluded that civil society organizations in BiH have an important role in fullfilment of conditions for accesion to European Union and that a society of equal opportunities is feasible through inclusion of marginalized groups in advocacy process to improve their position.
